Eight Seconds

Do you have eight seconds to connect to yourself? Sometimes it may not feel like it and this is all it takes. Imagine you are sitting in your car at a stoplight. Instead of feeling frustrated that you missed the green light, you can use the time to settle down and breathe for eight seconds, and another eight seconds, until the light turns green. When you pause in this way, you open the pathway to your heart. Pausing opens us to feeling connected to ourselves which, in turn opens us to the subtle communication channels.

One of these subtle communication channels may be with your nonverbal Rare child. What if you were to take eight seconds to hold their hands and look into their eyes? You could make a connection with them—heart to heart This can be very helpful because many Rare mothers have an almost exclusively nonverbal relationship with their Rare child.

The gift of pausing, slowing down and aligning with your heart is something that will benefit you as a Rare mother.

When you slow down and breathe, you will feel yourself. You will open to the infinitely nuanced language of your body. By practicing this, you’ll also learn how to read the more subtle communication signals. Your body gives you signals all the time. And you need to take care of yourself.

Remember

Slow down and pause for just eight seconds. It can make all the difference.
