Acceptance of What Is

This week in our Rare Mothers in Relationships Workshop we had a conversation about acceptance that was both incredibly heart-opening and heart-wrenching. The depths to which we go as a community is profound. I am honored by the degree of vulnerability with which we are sharing and the safety that we have created. Being in a group of Rare mothers who understand what you are going through has immeasurable value.
How Laughter Heals Us

In our Rare Mothers in Relationships Workshop this past week, we looked at how laughter can ease the tension in your life. Have you ever noticed how laughter serves to change how you’re feeling? It shifts the energy in your body and your mind as it opens the heart.
Ruptures? Repair Them Swiftly

Being in a relationship means that sometimes you will have arguments which create ruptures. When this happens, it is important to make up or repair as soon as possible. This was our jumping off topic for our discussion in the Rare Mothers in Relationship Workshop this past week.
Vulnerability Takes Courage

Opening yourself to another person renders you vulnerable and invites you to soften even when you’re afraid. Sometimes in relationships, your defense mechanisms kick in and you may selectively choose what you want to share to stay safe and when people get close you push them away. Vulnerability takes courage.
Forgive + Be Free

We had a powerful conversation this week about forgiveness in our Rare Mothers in Relationship Workshop. We looked at what supports forgiveness and what gets in the way. We also explored how true forgiveness begins with forgiving yourself.

Being a Rare Mother means that you show up day after day to take care of your child regardless of how you’re feeling. There are many things you encounter over which you have no control. You are journeying in the unknown and getting to a milestone may take a very long time.
